The first showing of the Green Box was at the Body and Soul area of Electric Picnic 2010. I had 105 photographs on display showing a green sustainable Ireland. A slide show of the photographs on display at The Green Box can be seen to the right of my blog. The Green Box at the Body and Soul area was a learning experience . The projector over heated on the first night . But we still got the projections working from 6 in the evening until midnight. On the Saturday day of the festival we drilled holes in the secure box that we had to keep the projector in. The holes prevented the projector from over heating and hey presto the The Green Box worked until 2am. Body and Soul kindly placed a few benches in front of the Green Box. I had the Box specially lit up by green LED lights on the edge to grab peoples attention. Luckily the wind and the rain on Sunday did not damage the box but for some reason the projector turned itself off at midnight.
The Green Box was placed between Permaculture and a tea house cafe .I was delighted with the location. I have to say a special thank you to Klare England , Freddie and Avril at the Body and Soul festival . Also a big thank you to Claire Byrne who works for the Green Party she helped me with the photographs .Also a big thank you to Allen Monahan the AV technician who helped me build the box and set up the lighting .Also a huge thank you to Comhar Sustainable for the funding of the project.
I am planning to show the Green Box again at the Green House St. Andrews street, Dublin City this year .I will keep you posted about a date.
